Thomas Jefferson once rightly stated that learning is an experience that must never end and must end only when the person dies. If this motto is used by
executives as well, life will be smoother for them amidst the corporate chaos that is on the rise today. It is practical that once a professional takes up a coach he must continue with him as
this in most cases will prove to be the highest vantage point. Executives who have already reached the C-suite level are often seen taking the best decisions. But the smooth flow of right
decisions might get hampered by a single wrong step and may prove fatal to the job prospect of the executive in question. A coach or a mentor in such a situation can prove fundamental in
making the executive take the right path.
If the history of executives at the C- suite level is briefly glanced upon it is found that most of them have invested whopping sums at the beginning of their careers but few of them realize
that it is at this present level of responsibility and honor that they need to be doubly careful and need to make considerable investments on a coach so that they can remain at the top of
their league.
Executives at the top must always remember that they are under constant scrutiny by someone invisible in the corporate world. And this fact becomes harder to be handled when it is considered
that the performance yardstick is always improving. Working under this kind of pressure can bog one down and to improve one’s own situation one should recruit a coach.
A job- threatening flaw can occur if an executive imagines that he knows all. It is definitely the case that what one knows one can be sure of, but what about things that one doesn’t know of?
This is a question to which there can never be any answer because it is obvious that what one doesn’t know, may still exist and for executives to look out for opportunities it is advisable
that they retain a mentor and thus find newer ways to excel.
