The past year has been one of extraordinary challenges--individuals faced the hardships that are inherent in times of economic uncertainty, organizations were charged with doing more with less and we, at CFN, have been ever more relied upon to provide assistance, support and resources to help our clients weather the storm. We are fortunate to have drawn strength from our established partnerships with our clients, and we are committed to deepening those partnerships, while consistently bringing added-value to them at every opportunity.
In addition to our commitment to serving our clients, CFN has also invested considerable thought, time, energy and financial resources toward activities that are consistent with our values. In an era where employers are becoming increasingly cognizant of the importance of giving back to society, we at CFN feel proud to have been active in a variety of causes and issues before it was "trendy". As such, we want to share with you a few examples of our commitment to social responsibility:
- CFN's Green Team- CFN's staff launched a grassroots initiative to improve our impact on the environment both at work and beyond. The team has affected significant changes in our workplace behaviors including: paper reduction, expanded recycling, electricity conservation, and replacing bottled water with a water filtration system. In our effort to use of green materials and products, CFN prints its brochures and marketing materials on recycled paper. We are measuring our improvements and all of us are enthusiastic about the small changes we can make (as well as the CFN Green Team incentives we are eligible to win).
- Pro-Bono Service- CFN affords pro-bono service to Bottomless Closet, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income women reenter the workforce, as well as Bucks County Housing Group, a private, non-profit social service organization that provides a wide range of housing and related social services to homeless and low-income families.
- Charitable Contributions- CFN has been a proud supporter of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, an organization dedicated to work on federal issues of importance to the ovarian cancer community, including regulatory, legislative and appropriations work that helps fund critical ovarian cancer research and ensure the safety and efficacy of ovarian cancer drugs. CFN is also an active supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Avon Walk for the Cure for breast cancer awareness.
- JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge, New York City- CFN sponsored a team of employees to participate in the world's largest corporate running series dedicated to supporting charities and institutions that contribute to an overall quality of life in the communities served by JPMorgan Chase.
This past year, CFN also had the opportunity to continue its HR educational series with an installment entitled, “Caring, Conserving Your Corporate Culture and Cutting Costs: Can Employers do it All”. CFN was honored to have Kathleen Commins from the law firm Davis, Polk and Wardwell as one of its featured HR leaders, along with HR leaders from CFN clients Eileen Fisher and JetBlue, and Linda John and Barbara Reiss from CFN.
Gratefully, our efforts and achievements have also been recognized beyond our workplace and client community. We feel proud to have been honored with the following awards and recognitions:
- DiversityBusiness.com Top Small Business- CFN has earned this distinction for the past three years.
- Enterprising Women of the Year- CFN’s Founder and CEO, Linda John was selected as a finalist by Enterprising Women magazine in their tribute to North America’s top women entrepreneurs.
- Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year- CFN achieved high distinction as a finalist in E&Y’s prestigious regional Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
- Inc. 5000- CFN has been identified by Inc.com as one of the fastest growing companies in America for the past three years.
